About me

My name is Louise and I draw faces that have lived.
I've always been a perfectionist, and drawing became the place where that need for precision finally found its purpose.
I work in graphite and charcoal because these mediums don't lie. No color to hide behind. Just light, shadow, and the truth of a face.
What drives me is simple: the ability to replicate exactly what's in front of me. Every wrinkle, every shadow, every detail that makes a face impossible to forget. That process gives me an immense satisfaction I've never found anywhere else. And I want to share it.
Through my work, I don't just capture a likeness. I look for the personality behind the face, the weight of time in an expression, the raw humanity that photography catches in a fraction of a second and that I spend weeks rebuilding, line by line, detail by detail.
Every detail is intentional. Every piece takes weeks. That's the only way I know how to work.
Time, contrast & raw humanity. That's what I draw.
